Album Notes

I've tried writing a number of different essays to put on this page. I've tried wit. I've tried self-flattery. I've tried to impress you with my elegant verbosity. Now I'm trying something different. I'm going to tell you how I personally feel about this CD:

I like this CD because I enjoyed writing the songs and performing the songs that make it up. I've sung these tunes all over the Northwest and a few of them I have performed on the streets and piazzas in Italy.

"Mangia Mangia" was written after I returned from my first trip to discover my roots in Italia (and my roots fed me a lot of food.) I've sung these songs in nursing homes, coffee shops, bars, theatres and my bedroom. I'm sure I enjoy this album for different reasons than you will. But in the end, the music moves me - that's why I made it.

I hope that it moves you as well. Whether it moves you to tears or to laughter or to the restroom is not important. I just hope that it moves you enough to pull out your credit card and buy it so that you can be moved whenever and wherever you want.

It's a wonderful thing to make music but I think most songwriters feel incomplete if their music is never heard by anyone but themselves. That's why we feel compelled to publish our creations to the world. If we don't share what's the point?

So I'm glad to be able to share these recordings of my songs with you. It's a thrilling thing for me to think that people I don't even know and have never met are listening to my voice and hearing songs that I wrote and recorded a few years ago. I've never even met you but you are getting a glimpse into my awkward life. I hope you get a kick out of it.

Sincerely,

Franco Bertucci

REVIEWS

This CD brightened my day

I can't say that I love every track but I can say that certain songs on this album such as, "Ballad of Finding One's Self" are unlike any music I've heard that has been made in the last 20 years. Franco sounds too old fashioned to be as young as he appears - but the songs are definitely those of a young guy (just one from a different era) and really resonate with me. And it's hard to be sad after listening to "Bachelor Oatmeal."
