Album Notes

Frank Blueka’s style of playing is showcased by Celtic, Blues & Rock elements and is weaving with the American Singer/songwriter tradition. His warm storytelling voice is lively driven by an electro-acoustic guitar. He uses some delay to surround the space with a special atmosphere. “We can hear influences of Jack Johnson, Ozark Henry, Damien Rice, Radiohead, Luka Bloom, Neil Young, Townes van Zandt, the early Tom Waits...”

Great is Frank’s debutalbum “Acoustic Avenue”. A puristic album with a 21st century warm feel. The album Acoustic Avenue was released at the end of 2007 in Zwolle's downtown. A one hour drive from Amsterdam.

If you ask Frank Blueka what kind of music he makes he says: “Songs, preferably in their simplicity. I continue long to arrange with my acoustic guitar and voice. These restricted resources frustrates me sometimes, but on the other hand they ensure me that I don’t lose myself in a surplus of too much possibilities. Give me a synthesizer and I dream away this far that I can hardly ever find the way back…”

We hear Folk and Celtic influences in the music of Frank Blueka. Also we discover blues-scedules and we must think inadvertently of the solo-record of John Mayall appeared in 1967. The same dreamy environment hangs, almost half a century later, around the smooth singer-songwriter recordings of Frank Blueka...
