Interest in playing the piano began at three years of age.
Shared 2nd place honors and trophy in the Jazz Combo Competition, 1968 Battle of The Bands, Hollywood Bowl, Hollywood, CA....Jazz Quartet: For Movements.
Played the local jazz/R&B scene in and around the Los Angeles and San Diego (CA) county areas from 1971 to 1989. Too, was employed by several churches in the same geographical areas as pianist and or organist down through the years.
YESTERDAY, TODAY is the title of my debut solo jazz CD on Cherrywood Records (indie label).
Influences: Herbie Hancock, Ramsey Lewis, Oscar Peterson, Chick Corea, Jeff Lorber, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Tom Scott, Freddie Hubbard, Boney James, Will Downing, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Ray Brown, Ron Cater, Stanley Clark, Wayman Tisdale, Jimmy Smith, Richard Groove Holmes, Quincy Jones, Oliver Nelson, Gerald Wilson, Wes Montgomery, Norman Brown, The Modern Jazz Quartet,Peabo Bryson, Horace Silver and Thelonious Monk just to name a few.
It is my desire to inspire...pursue your dreams, dreams do come true.
This CD is dedicated to my late wife Mary A. Franklin. During our 24 years of marriage most of the songs were written.
