Album Notes

'That Far Away Land' is the fourth CD by the late Thomas Fraser of Shetland. Thomas was a fisherman who was passionate about music and dedicated his spare time to recording unique versions of his favourite tracks, especially by Jimmie Rodgers.

This latest CD, has been called the best posthumous release by Fraser to date. Certainly it is the most diverse from Rodgers to Williams to Snow and taking in Inkspots and more modern pop songs from the era.

The CD's 25 tracks have been pulled from the original reel to reel archives but also features newly-discovered treasures which are being heard for the first time in over 40 years.

"Thank god for tape recorders" - Tim o'Brien.
