Bringing together two “old Pros”, Freak’n’Fuzz gives you the widest variety of cover and original rock, blues, country, reggae, (and whatever else strikes their fancy) going. Jeff is a lifelong entertainer who has recorded and sold his music internationally. Scott has been a musician since the age of 5, releasing cd’s with “The Blues Hounds” and “The Whitey Bleu Band”.
This recording was captured during one of their early gigs at McCleary’s Pub in Marietta, PA. Their version of Willie Dixon’s classic “Hoochie Coochie Man” features Gene Pelland on Blues harp, and Jeff’s daughter Amy provides backing vocals on “Ocean City, MD” (voted one of the top Ocean City songs) and “Ego Alley”.
Two studio songs, “Victory Song” and “Scared All My Life” are also included in this collection. “Victory Song” was written by Scott, about the war in Iraq, and all war in general. “Scared all my Life” is Jeff’s ode to relationships, and fear thereof.
Freak’n’Fuzz’s “Live at McCleary’s” shows two unique styles diverging in exciting and interesting ways, and they continue to please audiences throughout the mid Atlantic region.
Jeff’s roots lie in the rock of the early and mid sixties, especially the Beatles. Coming from a show biz family, he was also heavily influenced by his Father, Gene Archer, a noted singer and performer. He performs classics of the 40’s and 50’s at rest homes throughout the Annapolis, MD area.
Scott, being a child of the seventies and eighties, grew up on hard rock and heavy metal, but also gained a deep appreciation for the music of the Eagles, Bruce Springsteen, southern Rock, and Blues, mainly by hanging out with the older “hippies” in the neighborhood, and although he wouldn’t admit it until recently, his father’s favorite music by guys named Willie, Waylon, Hank, and Johnny had a large influence, also.
Their individual work can be heard on Jeff’s “The Jeff Archer Group” albums and Scott’s “The Whitey Bleu Band” releases.
Between gigs, Freak’n’Fuzz have been recording a CD of original music, due out in 09’. With the recent addition of percussionist Val “Hippie Girl” Potruzki, the band is more powerful and fun than ever!
