Album Notes

He was the first Rock & Roll artist Reprise Records signed.

The hit New York record label “Heritage Records” had a regional chart hit with his recordings, yet he never toured where & when the record hit those charts. It’s not that he wouldn’t like being a star, he wasn’t driven by the need.
Now, the recently successful television documentary “King of New England Guitars”, has again focused attention on the artist, Freddy Dame. His version of Georgia on My Mind eclipsed other notable performances in the film about his guitarist friend Bobby Herne. Inquires started. “Who is this guy with the great voice and piercing interpretive ability?” A quality vocalist, the likes of which have rarely been heard from in a long time.
It’s not that the public owes Freddy Dame anything. AH! The public owes itself a sip, perhaps a taste of this remarkable song stylist on this new recording with timeless interpretations given to new and classic songs. Listen and enjoy.
