Free Range Pickin' (FRP) is an acoustic string band that synthesizes bluegrass, folk, and songwriter sensibilities into its inspired originals and imaginative arrangements. The quartet's eclectic approach to its music, based on lush four-part harmonies and energetic instrumentation (mandolin, banjo, guitar and upright bass), has won fans throughout the Midwest and led to Minnesota Music Academy Award nominations for best band and best recording in the Bluegrass/Old-Time category.
