Album Notes

Free Riders have risen from the dust of Futureretro because we wanted to write songs about our lives and other peoples lives, about the earth and about the weather. We wanted guitar sounds, melodies and emotion. Beautiful Weather was constructed and written during a drought in the south east corner of Australia - it took almost two years. In that time it barely rained. Free Riders know that Beautiful Weather should make us feel better. We dont want sunny days we pray for rain.

REVIEWS

author: Ian Booth
A rich, thought-provoking and very musical collection, with influences and sounds as diverse as Leonard Cohen and "America". The clever CD title foreshadows the poetic lyrics commenting on religion, hypocrisy, ethics-free living and a struggling planet. But these somewhat bleak themes are offset by beautiful guitar work, strong vocals, nice harmonies and infectious rhythms. This is a very promising first CD for the new band.
