Jesters Of Yestermorrow is guitarist extraordinaire Eric Wallack, with multi-instrumentalist Dick Metcalf (aka Rotcod Zzaj)
These 2 have been recording together since around 1999. This outing is among their best, with tracks that are psychedelic, but with a distinctly improvised jazz flavor!
Eric Wallack uses guitars & (many) other stringed instruments, in a fashion that will enchant listeners. Dick Metcalf's Kurzweill keyboard contributes significantly to a very tasteful musical experience that makes life feel relaxed and enjoyable!

Free-Flowing abstract jazz
author: solipsismJesters of Yestermorrow is another excellent example of out there jazz and experimentalism. Never one to shy away from the abstract, Rotcod Zzaj this time alongside Eric Wallack has produced an album that sometimes takes you to the fringes of insanity and what's more, they make it a nice place to be. The abstract is expertly blended with more free flowing forms of jazz interspersed with some excellent guitar work. The lush instrumentation and compositions evident on this album really go to show the depth and diversity of these guys...a rich journey in sound that any true sonic traveller should enjoy.

author: Taped CrusadersEric and Rotcod ride again. Pretty much similar in style to Armchair Carpet Rides in that it is similar in instrumentation (guitar and keys) and intention (improvisation). The track titles make it look like a Sun Ra album, but no all-out freak-outs mixed with big-band swing here. A great combination of sparkling keys and strings on "Star Dusted"; that's what it sounds like, swirling sparkling stardust, chasing itself through light. "Five Shades Of Zzaj", the magnum opus of this release, goes all over the place from surreal sounding percussive echoes to almost bar-room style blues, ranging in texture and pitch between movements. The next track, "Life On Pluto" depicts the laid back lounge grooves inhabitants of that barren star are so renowned for. Groovy, but should have been longer. There's lots of great relaxed jazz beats, the always cool Kurzweill keyboard sounds, and a nice breathy balance between each artists contributions, leaving plenty of space for improvisation to come forward and receed, without imposing upon each other.
