Album Notes

Glenn decided to return to Nashville to give his shot at a full length album.Having already worked with producer Steve Haggard and engineer Randall Merryman,he knew of the comfort zone in the studio. The "Timeless" album was completed in two trips to Nashville.Glenn states,”I’m always amazed at how talented the musicians are down there and how relaxed and comical the studio setting is. They took me to a gig they were playing on the other side of town. The studio guitarist John Kearns was hired to fill in for Gail Lloyd’s band.John without knowing any of Gail’s songs stepped up to the plate and pulled the gig off hands down. That’s the caliber of musicians I was working with.Gail would occasionally turn to John to show him the chords and he took his Clarence White sounding solos when he was called upon.David Russell was the studio mandolin/fiddle player.I asked David what was the difference between a fiddle and a violin. He told me the instruments are identical it’s just a matter of how they are played.A fiddle isn’t played at Canagie hall and a violin isn’t played at a southern barbacue.David is from Texas and he’s a very pleasant southern man.The keyboard player Chris James was a great guy. We’d go off on benders of bands from the 60’s and 70’s and he’d know all the players and details.Since my own collection of vinyl fell into this era,Chris brought back a lot of memories”.Glenn finished his album when he brought his son Mike with him and the final six songs as well.Mike although only 16, is an accomplished percussionist in his own right and was also recorded on two tracks.

What a great album! Definitely a classic! Adult contemporary with a country/folk flair. This is the type of music you never get tired of listening to over and over again. Wonderful music and vocals. Like the great Crosby, Stills & Nash, only better. Glenn French has extraordinary talents. Memories is my personal favorite along with Annie's Tune. Very highly recommend this album and artist.
