If the members of Radiohead copulated with a robot Mars Volta cover band while Jeff Buckley played softly in the background, the progeny would most certainly be Frequency Fall. Based out of Vancouver, Canada, Frequency Fall takes infant sounds from their sonic cradles and shamelessly molds them to their every will.
Through internet exposure, live shows and strong word-of-mouth Frequency Fall managed to sell copies of 2003's Resensitize CD on all seven of the world's continents. The September 2004 release show for Volition saw fans line up around the block of Vancouver's Media Club and the first shipment of the disc soldout within hours. 2007 promises new material in the form of Frequency Fall's eagerly awaited third and final opus, Everything Now. Nearly three years in the making, the album is sure to prove worth the wait.
As the band loudly proclaim on the track Relapse off of the new disc: "It's time to break apart the past. At last."
Turn on your brain. Press play.

SP meets MV
author: Forrest RapierIf the Smashing Pumpkins mated with Mars Volta, their offspring would be Frequency Fall. This is a fantastic and original album, very refreshing in this day and age! Get it.
Makes everything on the radio sound like crap
author: LawrenceEven though this CD has all the intensity of Smashing Pumpkins and the complexity and intelligence of Radiohead, it belongs in a class of its own. After listening to Resensitize, the radio bores me immensely. I am looking forward to their new album. On The minus side, the vocals are a bit off pitchwise, but they progressively get better with each song. I truly believe the next album will deserve five stars by even the harshest of standards.
wonderful for fans of alternative
author: mollythis is definitley worth buying for anyone who appreciates alternative and music thats different from the normal. reminds me of the great alternative heroes of the past, and definitley had some thought put into it. i like the band a lot and think they deserve a spot in alternative music. the fact that its different is very refreshing and makes it more interesting to listen to then yet more bubble gum pop, generic hard rock, poppy upbeat "punk", gangsta rap, repetitive hip hop, and pretentious indie rock
an AMAZING MUSICAL MASTERPIECE!
author: Ariel...the music is a beautifully insane, soporific noise that makes your brain numb and puts you in a trance...the vocals are just as smooth, dreamy, and mesmerizing...Travis has such a beautiful voice that I almost wish I could understand whatever the hell he's saying...this is truly an AMAZING MUSICAL MASTERPIECE!
Expected more
author: SaraGreat album, don't get me wrong, but I expected more after hearing their second album.
Smashing Pumpkins in disguise?
author: James DeeAn excellent album and especially good as they are from canada (yes, I am a canadian too). They have great melodies, their music soars (used far too often in reviews, but i assure you its true in this case!) And its so well produced. I have managed to pass this on to friends who are music snobs who only like Kings of Leon, Queens of the Stone Age etc, and they were likewise impressed! And it helps that the sound like Smashing Pumpkins too (was I the only heartbroken SP fan when they broke up?) Who needs Mr. Corgan anyway? Keep me entertained, FF!
One of the best albums of 2003!
author: David PukinA truly amazing album, Frequency Fall contiually amazes me with their material. At times you can hear their influences shining through but they do not overpower or hinder the originality and ingenuity of the band. From start to end, the band proves they can provide well orchestrated spacey music, as well as rock out with the best of them. I liked the album so much I gave it to Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins himself at his Toronto poetry book signing!
DRIVING BASS LINE
author: Bryan Qsmashing punmkins meets radiohead. The lyrics are a little drowned out by the music, but it makes you reallyu feel the emotion in the song. Wonderful solos at points.
Heavy, melodic, interesting good stuff!
author: Kristian PerryI just randomly picked this up, but it's great. I think their self-description, invoking Soundgarden, the Smashing Pumpkins, and Radiohead isn't far off. They have a rich creative sound that's heavy and powerful. I really enjoyed this and I hope they make it big so I can see them on tour. Pick this CD up!
Awesome drive, fat choruses, and sweet harmonies...
author: Erik BeyerI have immediately classified this album into the Indie category, however delivering a very familiar sound to me, mixing tones, vocal styles, and songwriting styles of many bands I have heard. The nice thing is, every band, especially these guys, have managed to hit the top of my list. Among the many familiarities are souring guitar licks, wonderful combination of sounds, an awesome drive, fat choruses, and sweet harmonies. Check out the website and you will find a great video clip containing some live shots, interviews, and great real life shots. Want to bring a powerful album into your collection of CD’s, and have something you can listen to repeatedly and still find something new every time? Frequency Fall will fill that void. No it is not a cure all, but will definitely change your way of looking at indie rock and any related counterparts. These guys sweeten the tooth with fantastic consistency and make you want more. Favorite Track: 3 - “Come Down”
Not bad...
author: AdamThough a good album by any standard it was decidedly slower than I first expected, which disappointed me. I don't want to take anything away from this album as a whole though because, well, it's still pretty damn good. And, you won't hear it six times on FM in your car in the time it takes you to drive to work in the morning--so that's a plus.
This is music with layers, hidden depths, and promise...
author: South of MainstreamTravis Clark has a voice that reminds me of a cross between Jon Bunch from Sense Field and Jeremy Enigk. It's calmer moments find him softly chanting rather than singing. But when the music swells, so do his vocals...emitting growls, yells and shrieks. As the songs advance, the similarity to Enigk continues to grow. Musically there's a nice mixture of the mellow and the frantic. "Untouched" is a very pretty, fuzzy and discordant ballad with an 80's style bass line and slow building guitar parts, mixed with fuzzy electronic effects and vocal manipulation. "The Quiet Us" is another ballad that could easily fit on a SDRE or One Line Drawing disc, with the same slow build to an emotional chorus from mild beginnings. "The Gospel Truth" has an ethereal intro that builds into a scream of emotion. More driving tracks like "Pretext" and "Human Kind" showcase the heaviness of emotion with heavy guitar and bass sound. Music like this, created almost solely by emotion, driven by feeling, is a release for the listener as much as the artist. It's a voice reaching out and saying "...hey, I've been there too. Let it out". This, despite the bad name it's getting, is what emo is all about.
A Strikingly Original Approach
author: Bruce Lomet (CHINASKI)Now THIS is EMO rock. Sinewy guitars mixed with rumbling rhythm section and harmony tinged vocals. Like the perfect mix of Bats & Mice and Modest Mouse - yet strikingly original in their approach. This is not the kind of music you "get" right away - it's the enriching kind of music that seeps into your consciousness and then inspires you to share it with everyone you know.
