“Friendz" is a gospel group composed of four talented young men. James Gospel, Rick Yancey and Eric Smith started it. Each has played on the same stage with such greats as, The Cantons, The William Sisters, The Southern Gates, Gospel Ambassadors and The Sensational Calvary Singers. Talking backstage at one of their engagements resulted in they should form their own group, weeks later Friendz was formed. After formation, for months they practice constantly night and day, day and night, until they got it right. During this time it drew them closer together. Once you have been in their presence, you will understand why they call themselves "Friendz". Because they are, they love being in each other’s company. They hang out together, they play together and they pray together.
Friendz eased on the Gospel Music scene a little more than a year ago. In this short time they have gained a growing following and have distinguished themselves as a serious group in God's musical Ministry. Once they start to play, be sure to put your seat belts on, for with their heart - throbbing heavy beat, you will certainly be in for a musical uplifting.
