Frisia, aka Doug Taylor, creates a melodic blend of electronic instruments with guitar and Native American flute. Sometimes atmospheric and other times dramatic instrumental music.
"Many of the Ambient soundscapes are comparable to the classic Fax "Silence" series by Pete Namlook and Dr. Atmo; save the length of Namlook's compositions ( that oft times exceed 20 minutes), and these creations would certainly be pleasing to fans of these two artists. It does sound as though you have drawn from many a great pioneer within the electro genres, yet made each track Doug Taylor’s. The cinematics likewise, are very "multi" listenable, and create some vivid mindscapes with very clean and crisp sounds within each song that you produced here. All arrangements are very open and spacious, which create a floaty element, and due to the shorter length, they do not seem overly repetitive the way many lengthier Ambient and Cinematic comps can sound. It was refreshing to hear yet another artist that sounded original in his creations. This alone makes them much more listener friendly to those who generally shy away from such genres."

"...introspective yet hopeful music...now, in my mind it is the sum of life's positives and negatives that feeds the art...we are all touched by stuff that we would rather avoid, not to wish it on others but just to neatly side-step it...doesn't always work like that so if we can we should channel it into our music or pictures or words or...get the idea...maybe this is what has influenced you, Doug and me and all the other superb artists that hang around here...so that rather neatly suggests all negatives are actually positives in disguise… all good...excellent music..."

Facade

Having just purchased Frisia's "Facade" CD I felt moved to write a review for this wonderfully dark work. First off my favorites on this twelve track CD are: Sunset Over Flathead, Dark Light, Talol, We'll Meet Again and Crag & Tail. Don't get me wrong I love all the tracks on the CD but these are my very favorites. The kind of tracks you can listen to over and over again. I highly recommend this CD for the ultimate chill-out. Doug plays keyboards, guitar and a beautiful Native American flute on some of the tracks. Buy Facade, you'll be glad you did.
