Album Notes

Bartley's much anticipated label debut, "Gardens & Armies" has been met with enthusiastic audiences and rave reviews. "Accomplished!" proclaims WXRT Chicago radio host Marty Lennartz. With a knack for intelligent lyrics, angelic vocals, seductive melody, and hooky guitar, Bartley creates a rock mixture that immediately resonates. In "Gardens & Armies" he produces an album of expression and raw emotion which both exalts in the hopeful spirit of life's finer moments and reflects in the melancholy of their aftermath. Crafted with stunning arrangements and powerful prose, Bartley's writing and production is confirmation that a craftsman knows his own art and what it should contain.

Though officially a solo project, Bartley credits drummer Devin Staples with bringing his songs to life. In a moment that would foreshadow its success, Devin joined the band after a mutual friend played an early demo version of "I Knew You When" over the phone. The track has since been featured on WXRT in Chicago and on over 600 college and AAA stations nationally. Other selections from the album have also garnered significant attention. "Hello, Hello" was recently featured on WTMX Chicago's "Inside Track" segment where listeners call in and rate new releases. The response was overwhelmingly positive.

Planning for an extensive tour in 05' and 06' is underway. Catch him when you can. He'll leave you singing in the car for weeks.

Layered & Lush

The layered and lush production of "Gardens & Armies" brims with artful melody. Fritzsche has a unique lyrical gift for the right phrase at the right time. The songs twist and turn in unexpected directions that bring new nuances to the melodic lines. Each song is carefully crafted and unique. I couldn't be more pleased with this CD - I think you'll agree.

The music sets the mood for relaxation, and good feelings. Having a beer outside listening to this CD. Make sure you stop by Orlando, FL when you tour.
