Album Notes

Album info: Jim Froman - National Tricone guitar; Jackson Froman - Piano; Aimee Reash - Tuba; Rob Roth - Drums.

Tracks:

1. Sittin' On Top Of The World - A traditional tune done in a loose New Orleans style.
2. Minor Swing - Our arrangement of the classic Django tune with a drum solo by Rob Roth.
3. Singin' The Blues - This is the Bix Biederbeck/Frankie Trumbauer version. I play Frankie's part on the guitar and Jackson plays Bix's line on the piano.
4. West End Blues - A Louis Armstrong Hot Five classic arranged for Guitar, Slide Guitar, Piano and drums. Aimee plays Kid Ory's solo on the tuba.
5. Potato Head Blues - Louis Armstrong's Hot Seven version transcribed for guitar, piano, tuba and drums.
6. Honeysuckle Rose - Based on the Django version.
7. Georgia - When I told a friend of mine that I had bought my Tricone from a music store in Atlanta he said " you should play Georgia on it" so I did and we recorded it.
8. Farewell Blues - The inspiration for this arrangement came from listening to a Sol Hopii version.
9. Blue Room - One guitar plays the Lonnie Johnson part and the other does the Eddie Lang part.

Somewhere between Django Reinhardt and Leon Redbone
author: Ted McQuaid
September 24, 2006 Speaking of Jim Froman's Hot Rhythm Club Band: Somewhere between Django Reinhardt and Leon Redbone, Jim Froman has found his niche. Jim Froman and his "Hot Rhythm Club Band" offer an exceptional sampling of music reminiscent of a bygone era. A must for those who appreciate music with the 20's, 30's and pre-WW2 acoustic sound. No vocals in this collection. No vocals necessary. Some toe tapping required. Ted McQuaid ... Erie, PA
