Album Notes

"Frostbitten Grass" is the Band's first self-titled release, and features the youthful 4 piece line-up of Matt Sayles, Bob Guidebeck, Ryan Olthouse, and Brian Hartman. The album was recorded by Matt Sayles & Dan Flesher, and is a great time-capsule of a northern Michigan bluegrass scene that formed in the early 2000's. Many of the songs were recorded live (in some cases outdoors) with a single Mic, and feature stories of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, love, and speedy banjo-dominated instrumentals that illustrate the band's early live shows.
