Words, Music and Songs of F S & B
The Group, F S & B would like to WELCOME you to our Web Site to sit back, relax and enjoy this (two track) Album. Not only that, but to have you read up on some information the group would like to share with you, about ourselves.
F S & B (father, son and a brother) was formed in the fall of 2003. The group consists of three God fearing, Christ loving, Holy Ghost filled men, who enjoy singing and playing music to the glory of God. In fact, we would like to thank God for giving us the gift of ministry through music and song. We also thank Him for the privilege and opportunity to use those gifts to bless others, and hopefully to bless you as you listen online right now.
Art Spires is the son of the legendary Chicago blues vocalist and guitarist, Arthur “Big Boy” Spires. Art was blessed to inherit some of his father’s ability to sing and he uses that talent singing to the glory of God. Art has also done missionary work in such places as Haiti and Kenya. He was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi, but later employment would carry him to Flint, Michigan. After living there for some time he and his family migrated to Portland, Oregon.
The album guitarist, Marvin Spires, who is also Art’s son, was born while his parents were still living in Flint. Marvin is also one of the background singers of this group and he sings with the Praise Team at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Portland, Oregon. When Marvin isn’t leading his Cell group, singing or playing at the church, you’ll probably find him on the fish bank. He loves to fish. In fact, all of the group members like to fish, and allow the Lord to make us fishers of men.
I (Clarence Rogers), the Executive Producer of this album, count it a blessing and privilege to have recorded with such great guys. I am a native of Sylacauga, Alabama, and often like to joke, “you know the “Big City” (12,883) where Gomer Pyle (Jim Nabors) is from”. This is my fourth album and I’m working on something currently that’s “Hot”, perhaps to be released soon. I love working with these guys, because Marvin’s guitar playing and brother Art’s style of singing kind of take me back home.
