Will Fudeman's songs have lyrics worth hearing, and memorable melodies. He plays a sweet mandolin, and mandola. Fred Koslov was one of the finest guitar players ever to pick up a Guild. (Also a member of "A Fine Kettle of Fish" and "Radio London"- Ithaca based bands). Will and Fred both played with "Cayuga Klezmer Revival" (great album "Klezmology"). "The Ninevites" tells the story of Jonah from Jonah's point of view. It is a funny and effective song about the joy of hating the morally reprehensible "bad guys". "Waiting" features vocals by Jody Kessler, well-known singer songwriter. Other background vocals by Susan Lytle, a uniquely great singer.
This album is a showcase of Fred Koslov's brilliant playing. Fred's original instrumental "Ellie's Tune" is especially worth hearing...

Will Fudeman writes, plays and sings with whimsy and wisdom. His songs inspire hope and positive feelings. "Dog on a Chain" catches the struggle to deal with the suffering in the world. "The Ninevites" is a funny and profound retelling of the story of Jonah and the Whale.
There are a lot of catchy melodies, especially on "Green Tree" and "Good People." I would have liked to hear more of the background vocals and also of Will and Fred's strings. But I have listend to this a dozen times and am still not tired of it.
