Album Notes

Will Fudeman's songwriting career began in Pt. Reyes, California, where a songwriting workshop with Harmony Grisman revealed Will's natural desire to express himself in song. Will accompanies himself on mandolin, mandola, and guitar. He's performed with the Cayuga Klezmer Revival, Fred Koslov, Tom Sieling, Radio London, and Susan Lytle.

Will covers songs by great songwriters who have influenced his writing- including Bob Blue, Charlie King, Harmony Grisman, and Jack Hardy.

Some of Will's songs express his heartfelt desire for peace and justice, and celebrate the many activists who work for those goals. For instance, "My Own Blood" explores the feelings of Danny Burns, a member of the St Patrick's Four, missing his young son Finian from his prison cell where he served 6 month time for his 3/17/03 action to protest the war in Iraq.

Susan Lytle is another Ithaca based songwriter and singer. Her songs are deceptively simple, and deeply powerful. People now have the opportunity to hear her on this recording- we chose 2 live cuts to give the feeling of her live performance.

Radio London (John Simon, Kenny Zeserson, Jon Hilton) have played '60's music of the Beatles, Elvis, Mo-town artists, and British invasion bands for quite a long time. A popular dance-band, their one-time lead guitarist, Fred Koslov, passed away in 2003. Fred also played with Will on the CD "Green Tree"- also available on CD Baby.

David Frumkin and George Kobas have played together in "A Fine Kettle of Fish", another band that included Fred Koslov. (Their CD "Catch of the Day" includes 4 of Fred's original tunes). David and George are masterful instrumentalists, as demonstrated on the title cut "Only One Sky".
