Album Notes

1. THE LONG JOURNEY
A sober, jazzy statement of the bluesy melody that will be fully developed in the title song at the end of the album.

2. OUTSIDE
A melancholy, driving jazz track, introducing several instruments 'improvising' on a steady, flowing beat.

3. PAPILLON
Romantic classical track, featuring piano, acoustic guitar and strings. Remember that first love? This is all about that.

4. CARDS & DARTS
Powerrock, featuring electric guitars to provide a solid basis for upbeat saxophones. Pure fun!

5. CARNEVALE
Classic rock, depicting the masked festivals in Venice. Flutes play a melodic tune with a big orchestra and subtle drums.

6. CALLING DR. DIXON
An energetic hip-hop-like track, featuring electric guitars and a horn section.

7. SUSPENDED ANIMATION (I Initiation)
Opening of a 20 minute long composition, devided into 5 parts.
It starts with suspenseful piano and strings, topped with strange flutes. Reaching a climax, these instruments make way for bass guitar, several acoustic guitars en big orchestral waves, painting an almost new-age like musical tapestry.

8. SUSPENDED ANIMATION (II Animation)
The heaviest, rockiest track on the album. Big drums and several electric guitars, playing frenetical melodies.

9. SUSPENDED ANIMATION (III Suspension)
Several quiet passages for acoustic guitars, and a reprise of the orchestral waves from part I. The piano melody from part II provides the basis for a bright climax.

10. SUSPENDED ANIMATION (IV Direction)
A tense track. Drums, electric guitars en strings build an ever increasing massive wall of sound. Then a short reprise of themes from part I and II follow, before...

11. SUSPENDED ANIMATION (V Reanimation)
… the whole composition comes to a fulfilling climax, with electric guitars playing exultant melodies on top of a big, soaring string section. The finale of Suspended Animation.

12. THE LONGEST JOURNEY
The melody that opened the album now comes to full blossom in this track that is pure blues. A wining, electric guitar plays a tragic, soulful melody against a backdrop of strings and sparse percussion.

The fabulous group, Full Moon, releases a fantastic Instrumental Pop CD, “The Longest Journey.” This album reveals shades of memorable Pop instrumentals that also have flavors of New Age and Jazz tonality. Opening up the CD, the song, “The Long Journey,” pulls you into a magical voyage of beautiful soundscapes as the guitar will fascinate you by performing a somber melody. You are then taken to a vibrant melody on the song, “Calling Dr. Dixon,” as this tune features guitar and a bright horn section. The next 5 songs, “Suspended Animation (I-V),” flows with a wonderful musical complexity as the moods ranges from sweet and charming to heavy Rock. The last track, also the title track, “The Longest Journey,” takes on a stirring ambiance as this song features the guitar surrounded by sweet and delicate strings. Fans of instrumental Pop music will thoroughly enjoy the delightful compositions on the outstanding album, “The Longest Journey.”
