Finally, the CD that everyone has been waiting to be released. Better than a follow up to FIND THE GROOVE (www.cdbaby.com/funkmaters).
Jab'o Starks and Clyde Stubblefield are the ORIGINAL FUNKIEST DRUMMERS.
They are the most sampled drummers on the planet. Most of the time, without compensation and without even a thank you from the artist. Without these two guys FUNK would sound much different. Tunes such as Cold Sweat, Sex Machine, Super Bad, I Got The Feelin’, Funky Drummer, Mother Popcorn, Pay Back, There Was A Time, Ain’t It Funky Now and more have the back bone beats of these two greats.
Times are changing with their own licks on this CD. They are “doing it to death” with all the funk, soul, blues and groove grinding. Their special guest musicians include former James Brown band leader and trombone player Funky Fred Wesley! And this is not all, members of the Funk Brothers, Bob Babbitt and Jack Ashford give these tracks the rhythm that will rock you out!
Even Waldo Weathers (saxophone for Brown during the 90's) joined in to SAX out his beats.
The deep grooves and funky sounds of this music are totally beyond belief. The influences of James Brown, Bobby “Blue” Bland and B B King are evident. Not to mention that Motown touch from those Detroit cats.

I saw Clyde & Jabo Live at The Jazz Cafe in London in may 06.
That is what has urged me to but this album.
I'm a drummer myself and they inspire me every day.
