¦ OVERVIEW / BAND BACKGROUND:
Founded in Columbus, Ohio in 2001 FURTHER LO is a powerful and aggressive 5-piece US metal band that consistently delivers live with its crunchy guitar riffs, booming bass lines, thunderous drums and phenomenal vocals. Having successfully conquered the local clubs and venues in Ohio over the past two years, FURTHER LO is now pushing forward to assault the rest of the USA and the world with its unique metal sound!
Influenced by many of the perennial heavy hitters such as Slayer, Anthrax, AC-DC, Nevermore, Iced Earth, Godsmack, Alice in Chains, as well as the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Voivod, C.O.C., and Down, FURTHER LO has created an incredibly catchy blend of metal music that is edgy, melodic, furious, crunchy, harmonious and exciting!
Comprised of seasoned veterans and led by the powerful vocals of Aaron Werner, the band has put together a CD release containing the finest blend of their material. Werner, a 10-year veteran of the live music scene, has been singing since age 7 and draws much of his inspiration from dark and obscure vocals and ambient sounds. This fantastic self-titled FURTHER LO studio recording captures his incredible vocal performance and highlights the band's progression since their demo work.
The guitar tandem of Donnie Davis (lead) and Randy Reynolds (rhythm) brings to the forefront of the band a well-oiled guitar duo experienced in trading off heavy distorted riffs and whaling leads. Each began playing at a pre-teen age and has been heavily influenced by the leading metal bands of the 1980's. Years of daily practice as well as experimentation with styles, sounds, and effects have given them the tools necessary to put them at the top of their game.
The newest addition to the band, Ron Cardwell (bass) is a crucial hub to the FURTHER LO sound and style. His explosive earthquake-like bass sound gives FURTHER LO a thumping bottom end that delivers a massive wallop along with precision timing. Cardwell, together with drummer Turk Elliott, form the rock that is the FURTHER LO backbone. Turk's heavy groove-oriented drumming style is built on the same fundamental qualities found in many of the great drumming legends and his technical prowess and thunderous use of the double kick are unmatched. His influences are broad, yet he sites thrash metal bands such as Slayer, Viovod, and Forbidden as his primary sources of inspiration. Elliott, Reynolds, Cardwell, Davis, and Werner form a lethally heavy and addictive combination that sets FURTHER LO apart from any band out there.
