Fuse 5 is an energetic modern rock band. The music is a mix of today's rock with an 80's edge. The band began as Fuse 5 on June 24th, 2000 at the WMRQ Radio 104 fest heald at Meadow's Music Theatre in Hartford, CT where the band performed before thousands of modern rock fans. This was an enormous launching pad to prepare for the upcoming CD release.
The CD Release was heald at Bourbon Street North in Hartford, CT, was sponsored by Budweiser and promoted by Radio 104 in January of 2001. The room was filled with past and future fans of the band from the early Backstabber years to the present Fuse 5 status.
Our first artist showcase was heald at The Webster Theatre, Hartford, CT on May 4th, 2001 with fellow bands Missing Joe, Renata, and Sevenender. The show was presented by The Hartford Advocate's After Dark Artist Showcase program. The band played an extensive set of their songs and expanded our fan base extensively.
To promote the artist showcase Fuse 5 performed an on air acoustic set at WMRQ. This was aired a week before the performance and generated much interest in the band.
Fuse 5 was recently nominated by The Hartford Advocate as one of the best new bands of 2001.
The band has performed with a number of national acts such as; Creed, Three Doors Down, Eve6, Sevendust, Aztec Trip, Cinderella, and Warrant. We have also had guest appearances at our shows by artists such as Little Texas.

More than five good-looking guys!
author: Band Bitch
Fuse-5 sent me a bio and a picture of the band along with their 11-song CD. After reading the impressive bio, I got a good laugh over the CD cover art--a Guido-looking guy with an "L" on his forehead. As soon as I put the "The Big L" into my CD player, I realized this was going to be more than five good-looking guys from Hartford, CT who said they play a "mix of today's rock with and 80's edge". Fuse-5 was a treat to hear amongst the pile of heavy rock/metal CDs that are piled on my desk awaiting review.
All eleven songs by this band where originals except for the hidden track, which was "Moving on Up" (Jefferson's Theme) which totally caught me off guard. The lyrics, like the CD and hidden track, are all very good, with an occasional touch of humor.
The first song, "Stand in Line" reminded me of on 80's ZZ-Top song and the 11th track of "Bone Yard" had the sound of 38 Special. All the songs in between are full of energy. I doubt you would find yourself sitting still! I bet these guys are great live. I found my head bouncing and my heart rate picking up right through until track #7, "Slow Song" . This song began with a guest sax solo by Terry Sanger and made me want to kick back and relax with a cold one.
This CD, with the combined talents of Lee Phillips (vocals), Pete Rizzo & Eddie DeRocher (guitars), Doug DeBisschop (bass), and Ron Kolpak (drums) overall is an enjoyable listen. However, it mostly likely would only appear to the older (perhaps 30+) crowd. Perhaps I am corrected on that statement by the words of my 5-year old son, "This music is funky! Can we listen to it again tomorrow?"
