Fred Weaver plays acoustic guitar songs that are sometimes quite jarring -- jumping from quiet picking to loud double strummed riffing in a matter of seconds. The average song is a combination of anthemic chord progressions contrasted with the odd dissonant part... P'haps this means it comes across as something like John Fahey playing Dustdevils songs while Denis Johnson provides the lyrics + vocals. Who knows.
