Album Notes

I have always wanted to write some songs and create a record album. I figured that I could use the talents that I've accumulated over half a lifetime to really put out a quality self produced product that I could be proud of.

Well, That all sounded good, but I failed to make a project like this even a low priority in the past, as there always seemed to be something else to do. Something more pressing, or something more important than making a silly pop record, that needing my attention.

This summer, however, after observing just how fragile life is, I made recording this album the priority in my life, and I set a goal for myself; Ten songs by November - ten songs before I turned forty. After numerous self doubts and continually overcoming the limitations of my own ability, I'm happy to have succeeded in completing that goal, with results that surpassed my meager expectations.

I am so glad that I put my life on hold for two short months in order to actually live, by pursuing something I've always wanted to do. The bottom line for me is that we can never know what is going to happen to us, or how long we have left. When the buzzer goes off and the time is up, it's far too late for regrets.

These are the things that we still haven't learned.

Track notes;
01 - Every time - 3:33
Written two years before the recording in one mood, and recorded as a more light-hearted pop-rock song long after the anger had subsided.

02 - OK - 3:23
Think things are bad? If you've got the right people around you, everything is going to be OK! A feel-good Power-Pop blast with fat guitar and analog synths.

03 - Goodbye - 2:47
This is a very sad story about a painful breakup - or, is it?

04 - Cut - 3:08
Sometimes people do things that you don't understand, for reasons that you can't really know. This just represents my best guess.

05 - Live 2 Die - 3:48
Coined as 'Bubble-gum industrial' by a friend after hearing a snippet of this song, this driving but poppy song is a protest about a few things bugging me right now.

06 - Pretty Penny - 2:45
I don't know anyone like this penny person, but I guess you can find inspiration in anything. I'm not sure what this song is. Punk pop with some 80's electronica, perhaps?

07 - Does He Have A Sister - 3:53
This might be the best song I've ever written, in a style that I don't really care for. A Country-pop ballad with a tug-of-war between humor, and loss.

08 - You're not Right - 3:41
I'm not telling who I wrote this song about, but look around. Chances are, you know them.

09 - Red Rocket of Love - 4:05
This is the first song I wrote for what would be this album over 2 years ago. It was a lot better on paper, but this song has been growing on me. It's retro sounding smooth pop.

10 - Please Come Again - 1:37
I wrote this song for my Dad, and because I've always wanted to do an a cappella song. I got the idea for the chorus from the back of a matchbook. It's a pretty good choice for ending an album, live shows, etc.

1. A nice funky tune that reminds me of grooves by Phish, Blind Melon. Todd has a great voice and it's pretty catchy. Were it my tune I wouldn't have opened the CD with it butstill a good tune. 2. This one reminded me of the Cars. Kickass 3. I didn't know what to make of this one at first it really threw me for a loop.Once the punchline was delivered it was friggin hilarious and rawkin! Elements of Cheap Trick and Queen. Dig that cowbell! 4. This was a nice ballad with a nice acoustic sound. While I'm not a fan of ballads this tune had a nice Steve Miller vibe to it. 5. This is a kickass electronic groove. Kinda like Tin Machine or something. It comes out thundering at first then reverts to a rock beat which was kinda odd but it still worked. The lyrics are political, the guitars are mean. Great singalong tune. I'd like to cover this one but in a heavier more industrial style. My favorite track! 6. This reminded me of 80's euro-electro pop. Since I'm not that hip on this style I won't attempt elaborate. All told a damn good tune. It sounds like it should already be a hit on the radio. 7. Great lyrics. Funny as hell and sad at the same time. Sell this to someone in Nashville and cash in! Digging the Alman Bros. styled harmonized leads.Yeah! 8. This had really cool guitar tones on it. It reminded me of 90s alt-rock ala Collective Soul. 9. This was a good poppy tune with great vocal in the vein of 70's Steve Miller and maybe Todd Rundgren? 10. This is a kickass Barbershop Doowop tune. Nice way to round out the CD All in all Tamoore really did a great job on his CD. I was mightly impressed and I'm a jaded music fan living in Austin TX. Great tunes. Nice production and mix. Top Notch stuff. Who knows what could happen in the future with a high profile producer!

Brilliant assemblage of pop tunes....

G33K’s “What We Still Haven’t Learned” is a brilliant assemblage of songs from start to finish, featuring pop tunes that span an assortment of influences from many different eras of rock music. All of these songs contain captivating vocal and instrumental hooks while enticing the listener with a wide array of lyric topics, emotions and sonic excellence. From alpha to omega, this G33K album reminds the audience of yesteryear, when every track was meaningful, every song had substance and every song had meaning. “What We Still Haven’t Learned” is NOT the typical, modern-day 15 to 20 track album full of pretentious B-sides that we are bombarded with today in the MP3 age. The overall diversity of this album is evident from the ballads “Cut” and “Does He Have A Sister” to the bold, rocking bluntness of “Live 2 Die” and “Every Time,” to the fun, cheery, summertime-inspired tunes like “OK” “Pretty Penny” and “Red Rocket of Love.” Not only does this album appeal to the mainstream listener but also is intriguing and captivating to the most demanding of listeners with songs that strike out with progressive brilliance such as “Goodbye” and the driving, harmonically and lyrically excellent “You’re Not Right.” The talent of G33K gets overwhelming on the final acapella, do-wop track, “Please Come Again,” which takes us back to the sounds of the 1950’s. If you are looking for an album full of songs that are brilliantly composed, written and performed with a professional sound, then look no further than “What We Still Haven’t Learned,” by G33K.

This cd is amazing. It reminds you of songs you knew when you where little.. but you have never heard them before. Pop song writing genius, with a dash of 80's flare.
