G-3 Rap is a Detroit based producer/lyricist/musician specializing in hip-hop & urban soundscapes. G-3 Rap (aka Mario Gordon) plays soprano, alto & tenor saxophones, bass guitar, sings, and raps.
Influences would have to include all the great be-bop musicians, also Grover Washington Jr., Miles Davis, George Clinton, all the way to Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash, and Public Enemy. Having performed with various top 40, R&B ,and contemporary jazz bands for the better part of 10 years something else was in order. The debut cd (Inner City Groove) was released in Jan. 2003.
G-3 Rap is original music with old school flavor. Check it out!

Quite simply, a new catagory of music!!
author: BGG
I was really impressed by the music. The underlying theme of this album is that a birth of a new music style is in order. Get rid of that annoying "Boom Da Da, Boom Da Da" commercialized B.S. But rather listen to a unique blend of Jazz and Rap, a little bit of Hip Hop too. G3Rap has created that new music style and has named it "Jazzmatic". Jazzmatic is “A Lil Sump’n” “For Ya Mind”,and it’s “Authentic”. I listen to it quite often to and from work, my favorite song is "Like Dat (remix)". I believe that G3 Rap will go far and we will soon hear more from him.

G3 Rap, A new rap, and infectious grooves.........
author: Rikks Revues
Detroit based rapper G3 Rap (AKA Mario Gordon) has a unique style of rap smothered in a layering of smooth jazz . In his rhymes he says "If you don't like my style , get to steppin' " on "Jazzmatic" . G3 also plays soprano , alto & tenor saxophone which he showcases here on his CD "Inner City Groove".
