Skala Nights

by Gab

This track is a reflection of my time spent on the Greek Isle of Lesvos in the village of Skala Eressos. Its an acoustic, upbeat track with a very Greek influence in the addition of mandolin instrumentals.... hope you like it!

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
During 2012, I travelled to many places including the village of Skala Eressos, on the Greek Isle of Lesvos. Here I found respite from the hustle and bustle of the UK., where I was based while working in the northern hemisphere. I met some wonderful people, and made many new friends, from all over the world. But more than anything else, I became seduced by the beauty of the Island itself, and returned for 3 seperate trips.

So one evening, while sitting around the beach campfire with friends, admiring the night sky, guitar in hand, discussing our travels, our homes, and the prospect of having to leave the island and return to our busy lives......... we noticed no 'southern cross' constellation in the sky. Its common to Australian's, as it appears on our national flag, as well as in the southern night sky, but was a reminder that I was a long way from home. Someone suggested I write a song about this..................... and guess what, here it is!

This is a true story!
