Derryl Gabel is truly a guitarist of the highest order, having developed from his early Neo-Classical years into the more sophisticated fusion vein, in which he now resides.
Displaying insane chops, technique and an extremely tasteful sense of composition, Derryl Gabel now staunchly resides in that exclusive league currently occupied by the likes of Allan Holdsworth, Frank Gambale, Brett Garsed, and Greg Howe.
His playing has appeared on the George Lynch CD "Sacred Groove," as well as on the compilation "Guitar On The Edge, Volume 4." His debut CD for Progressive Arts Music is entitled Visions And Dreams, and the album features eight fiery compositions, as well as being enhanced with bonus material, such as video clips, mp3s, software and printable sheet music.
We feel that you will share this excitement after you've had a chance to hear Gabel's music for yourself.

Awesome!!

This is probably the best jazz fusion cd that Ive heard in a long time. After purchasing this C.D. I had to go on line and found out more about this guy. One of the things I notice about Gabel after watching him play on video is his exremely long fingers. It would take most people two hands to pull off those techniques. He is definately in same leagues as someone like Greg Howe or Allan Holdsworth and he is very melodic.
My favorite songs on this Cd are "Miles from Home" "Blue Fingers" and "Friends" I cant wait to hear something new from Gabel!!

Sounds Great. Holdsworth? Garsed? Not Quite.

Not in the same league as Holdsworth, or some of the other people mentioned above. Sorry! Guys like Holdsworth, Henderson, Gambale, and Howe are on a whole other level. However, this guy is a great player, and this is a really nice cd! Not jazz fusion!!! He plays in more of a rock/fusion type of style. Big difference! But, he sounds really nice! Definitely worth buying! Good Luck!

This guy sounds wonderful! I heard this cd from a fellow National Guitar Workshop Instructor this summer (2004), and I'm really impressed with Derryl's awesome technique, and musicianship. Fantastic playing, writing, and execution, with a lot of versatility! I can't wait to hear more stuff from him! I highly recommend this cd to anyone who loves great guitar based music. Good luck Derryl! I really dig your stuff.
