Excellent Debut! Smooth & addicting blend of folk, jazz, and blues
author: Gary Schulz
An excellent debut album, artist makes it sound as he's been doing it for years. Lyrics range from the relaxed and whimsical "Two-Tone" to the deeper and thoughtful "Dog-Day Afternoon", but never losing the same mellow groove that is heard throughout the album. Gabriel James's voice comes smooth and soulful, with words accompanied perfectly by bluesy guitar and trumpet accents. It's a sound not found elsewhere...and not to be missed!

Gabriel combines his mesmerizing style, catchy hooks, and a sense of humor...
author: Rikk's Revues
Based in Minneapolis, Gabriel James has put the right foot forward on this twelve song CD. His music is not easily classified as he blends guitar, piano, upright bass, percussion and a horn section into a mix that creates a constant vibe of jazz, folk, and rock. Gabriel's writing and vocals flow from track to track with an air of simplicity. From acoustic tracks with just a guitar and horns, to the fully orchestrated--Gabriel combines his mesmerizing style, catchy hooks, and a sense of humor.
Smart lyrics add to the mix as Gabriel writes of human emotion, love, sorrow, and jealousy. I recommend it for fans of Jazz influenced folk rock that transports you to
an acoustic landscape. Stand out tunes are "Two Tone", "Dog Day Afternoon" and "Little Jack Rational.”
