ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Gabriel the Marine is a concept fueled Indie Rock quintet from the shores of Long Island. The band has attracted people from all over with their unconventional representation of what a rock band truly is. This is evident with their use of classical violin as well as their blues and jazz influence in their music. The band began by planning for months without telling anyone anything about their intentions, while honing their craft and writing short stories about the character "Gabriel" by candlelight. Yeah, that's right, candlelight. The character is a combination of all the members' traits, fears, doubts, and ambitions. The band began writing at their church practice space on the north shore of Long Island, and in March stepped into the recording studio of their good friend, Nick Zinnanti (Life Between Sleep). After their EP was released, the band supported it by playing all over Long Island and in the tri state area, and are currently planning a tour in February 2009 throughout the north east. In September, guitarist Craig Kleila and drummer John Leibold left the band and were replaced by guitarist Dominick D'Agostino (The Mass and The Majesty) and Tommy Davis (Wilbur). The band's first single, "Maybe Baby" was featured on KROCK (92.3 fm) as well as a number of other stations throughout the country. The band intends to begin touring as soon as possible, and will bring with them all of the ambition and dedication that have defined them for the last year as a band.
