Album Notes

Romantic jazz and more:
heartfelt storytelling...
warm and emotional...
sensitive piano, bass and drum accompaniment...

With a warm rich voice and poignant lyrics drawn from contemporary masters, jazz standards, as well as her own lyrics, Gale sings from her heart and reaches for yours. The message is simple and powerful. "We have all been here before, been caught in love's revolving door...so let's drop our guard and rush into each other's arms, before we fall, ONCE AND FOR ALL in love.”

From the magic of a lover's first meeting on a street paved with stars to a landscape rendered useless when your lover is gone, Gale has a message to tell. She asks you as you "wander down the road of love collecting precious memories", to “find your happiness where you can, to take the thorn with the rose and go and blow your balloon and never worry how soon you'll break it, because life has little to spare, and like it or not, a lifetime's all that you've got to live”.

Gale reminds you what it feels like to be looking at the moon in I'LL BE SEEING YOU or sparkling stars on the water in BEIN GREEN, for Kermit the Frog. You'll learn you can SMILE (as Charlie Chaplin's music says) even “though your heart is breaking”, because as Gale herself wrote, “once you know you know the song of love...it reaches out to say, blow the clouds of fear away and listen to your heart, love will stay”.

Gale is currently living in Seattle and on Whidbey Island in the Puget Sound. With incredibly sensitive accompaniment from her pianist, Randy Halberstadt, bassist Jeff Johnson and drummer John Bishop, this first CD of Gale DuBrow's is a beautiful love story from beginning to end.
