It's truly a rare talent that can combine virtuosity in musical chops with heartfelt singing and lyrics, yet Jimmy Galloway is just such a talent. With the gentleness of Mark Knopfler's brand of Americana, the dexterous-yet-tasteful finger picking skill of Phil Keaggy, the melodic depth of Richard Thompson, and a touch of the warm melancholia of Nick Drake, he's truly a remarkable talent. With just 6 songs, there's no room on this EP for filler, but "One Foot" is a standout, with its hints of classic Tin Pan Alley songwriting. Also, the recording quality on "Waiting for the Fall" is a pristine and finely separated stereo recording of the acoustic guitar and it's remarkably clear; this mini-album is a true pleasure to listen to.

I was fortunate enough to see this young man playing in the Atlanta area a few months ago and have been waiting patiently for this CD. It was worth the wait. When you watch him play guitar live, it is easy to become mesmerized by the fingerpicking and miss some of the vocals. Listening to the CD away from the noisy clubs, one quickly realizes these songs are beautifully written and sung. I anxiously await the next one.

All the Right Stuff
Flawless, imaginative fingerpicking; inspired songwriting; engaging vocals--Jimmy Galloway has all the right stuff. It's rare to find an artist who can hold his own this well on such a stripped-down recording. His gifts really shine without the prop of technology. Absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to hear more!

about Jimmy Galloway
Atlanta's late great songwriter, fingerpicking virtuoso John Madden, introduced this artist at the Red Light Cafe's long running Weds. night open mike. John said, " I've showcased 5-6,000 musicians over the past 12 years and Jimmy Galloway is by far one of the best I've heard".

waiting for the fall
Absolutely mesmerizing, enchantingly different and deeply, hauntingly seductive, especially "One Foot".
While I have only just discovered Jimmy's music, his talent become even more amazing with every note you hear. A stellar production and one of the best guitar/vocals I have ever heard. Such a unique style of writing and composing and refreshingly singular, this artist's work could catch airplay in so many different genres. Hat's off to Jimmy. What an outstanding performance and listening experience!

Waiting for the Fall quick review
Very pleased with the artist's style and songwriting style. Has interesting twists in both lyrics and guitar playing that liven the CD and help make it unique. Certainly a gifted player, one I will keep an eye and ear out for. Would love to see a live show in my area.

GREAT!!!
I first saw Jimmy playing on YouTube while I was searching for people playing McIlroy guitars, and I was amazed by his playing right away.
I love Jimmy's cd, he is a great performer and songwriter. I really like the way he plays guitar in support to his vocals, he is really unique and I really cannot wait for his instructional dvd.
When I saw on CdBaby that the cd was available I just made my order right away without even listening to the previews, I knew already what a great cd would have been.
