Album Notes

“King Friday” features high-energy guitar playing over a solid rock rhythm section with hints of jazz and world music.

The recording features a number of seasoned musicians. Drummer Charlie Waymire and bassist Philip Bynoe (Steve Vai/ Kevin Eubanks) make up the rhythm section. Special guests include: Mike Keneally (Steve Vai, Frank Zappa) who lends his keyboard talents; guitarist Carl Verheyen (Supertramp/solo artist); and Jerry Corbetta (Sugarloaf), who backs Adrian up on keyboards for the Corbetta-penned classic “Green Eyed Lady.”

Beyond the superb guitar playing technique lies musical genius. This album not only kicks ass it doesn't have a moment of filler playing. Inspirational from the first note. Lyrical and melodic phrasing from start to finish. Adrian Galysh is as good as it gets in guitar playing. He has some phenomenal musicians backing him up. This CD is a MUST HAVE for anyone who likes guitar playing. Check it out !

I really enjoyed the disc from the opening intro riff until the last note.I thought that the authentic stylistic leanings were very enjoyable. Adrian, you are a great player and songwriter. You have inspired ideas that will show up in my playing on future CD's. Thank you. You have some awesome guys playing on this and they all did a great job. I loved listening to the bass player on this one. Your drummer and keyboard work were all great and inspiring. This is a great record that I will enjoy for years.

Rating: 4.0 By Jeb Wright -West Coast guitar wiz Adrian Galysh keeps hope alive that one day new rock may contain guitar solos! King Friday is still looking for a label to call home but the production, performance and style of this axe master makes one wonder what record execs are waiting for. “Black Coffee” and “Ventura Blvd.” are both slick jazzy rock numbers that show Galysh’s promise as an emerging guitar player. His style is fluid and contains all the right elements of rock, jazz, fusion and even pop. The highlight of the disc is the Rare Earth remake “Green Eyed Lady.” Adrian turns in a performance that will leave you scurrying to move the CD track back for another listen the moment it's ended. If you love good guitar playing that is part Lukathur, part Carlton and part Van Halen then you need to check out what this guy is doing.
