Album Notes
Ganto Barn began out of the ashes of several colaborative projects in the summer of 1998. Under the previous \"Prez Erections\", Guitarist/Vocalist, Eric Serota, and Bassist/Vocalist Christopher Post,of Cherry Hill,NJ, set out to play and write music simply for their own enjoyment. The pair preferred heavy energetic Rock N Roll from the time, as well as years past, such as, Nirvana, Green Day, The Melvins, Black Sabbath, The Ramones, The Misfits, TAD, Queens Of The Stone Age, and both were brought up on a healthy serving of The Beatles. After changing their name to Ganto Barn (a name derived from an 8th grade poem by Eric), they set out to find a drummer who shared their influences, drive, and love of music in general. After several imfamous local performances that garnered them a small, dedicated following, 2 EPs, and many disappearing drummers, the two finally settled on Robert Montenegro of South Philadelphia in September 2006, a hard hitting amplitude of sound, energy, talent, who previously had played drums in locals, Sourdough, and Philly mainstays, The Wonderland Murders. When joined together, Ganto Barn became a tight machine that required very little effort, but displayed a huge colaborative heart, and knack for the same cause, to play and write the music THEY want.
