Album Notes

Real Detroit Weekly, June 28-July 4, 2006 Issue:
"ElectricArtSong" was given a four out of five stars - "Remarkable"

"Simon and Garfunkel, Devandra Banhart, Ravi Shankar and Donovan went backpacking for six months, soaked up all kinds of world music influences and then died of malaria in the jungle, all at the exact same moment. Their spirits collided on the way to wherever and they were reincarnated as one man named Garrett Field. Surprisingly good." - KND

I'm a student of South Indian classical Carnatic music and a singersongwriter living in Middletown, Connecticut. I was raised in West Bloomfield, Michigan. In my electricartsong performances I play finger picked vamps on the electric guitar and will usually leave space in a song to improvise vocally in Indian music solfege (the "do re mi fa" of Indian music). The "ElectricArtSong" album cover art is Andrei Rabodzeekno's 2003 painting, "It's good news but I have to whisper it." This album was recorded live in 2005 at Xhedos Cafe, in Ferndale, Michigan.
