Album Notes

This CD is for my kids, and all children of Jehovah's Witnesses that need some encouragement in order to find joy in Jehovah's service and stay on the narrow road to life. Kids of all ages (as well as adults) will find something they love here.

I first realized the power of music as a young boy listening to AM radio on Long Island, NY, in the early 1960s. I soaked up virtually everything that came across the airwaves. It wasn't long before I began expanding my musical horizons, with the influence of my parents' record collection, to the great composers such as Chopin, Tchaikovsky and Mozart. Still in grade school, I took up the drums with the school band and orchestra. Not long after that, my father bought me my first acoustic guitar as a gift, so I set about teaching myself to play it. In just a few years, my family got a piano, which I of course had to play!

It was only a year or so after beginning piano lessons that I found the true power of music. It was then that I was first exposed to the truth of the Bible. After getting baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1975 at age 16, I began more than ever to appreciate that music can be used to our detriment, or to encourage positive qualities like faith, hope and love.

Over the years I have dabbled with music off and on, but never seriously, as it always seemed impossible to do so in this world while seeking the kingdom first. A few years ago, thanks to the encouragement of family and friends, I began putting whatever musical ability I have to good use by writing songs along theocratic themes; first to encourage my young children in their struggle to maintain integrity in this world, then to entertain and encourage the brotherhood in general.

Spiritually upbuilding, my children love to listen and sing along.

I find these cds to be spiritually upbuilding because you have used a talent Jehovah has given you to express your appreciation for the Truth. The songs are evidence that you have joy in your heart, and this music is truly a pleasure to listen to. My children love to listen to your cds, and sing along with them. They are amused when they hear your children singing! I recommend these cds to any parent who is interested in finding creative ways to sound appreciation for Jehovah into their childrens' hearts.

Upbeat, encouraging songs. My children love every song.

The song material is well written - the lyrics, the subject matter, etc. You don't hear too many upbeat, encouraging songs like this often! My children love every song, and I [at 33 years old] can listen to the CD over and over. In addition to the great lyrics, the guitar work and song arrangements cover a wide variety of styles. Overall, it's a well put-together collection of songs that I would recommend to any brother or sister!

Wide variety of musical styles, tasteful lyrics and arrangements.

It's About the Kids has a wide variety of musical styles, tasteful lyrics and arrangements, something for all age groups to enjoy. I'm on the road a lot and I love music but the radio is often disappointing and disturbing and despite my large music library I find I'm bored easily. This album had me listening over and over, even singing along. Refreshing to hear a family that sticks with a Christian life style and makes uplifting and enjoyable music to encourage the rest of us.
