The music I make respectfully draws from the earlier traditions of country music. Yet, various fields are synthesized to provide a fresh approach. I wed the traditional early 50's sound of Hank Williams or Webb Pierce with the harmonies and rhythms of swing. I take the rustic sound of mountain music and add dashes of country blues. I also offer energetic rockabilly numbers. I am a multi-string instrumentalist: guitar, non-pedal steel guitar, banjo, mandolin, violin, viola, bass, etc. I am capable of playing many subgenres of country music that I draw from in the creation of my songs and arrangements. I use various vintage and rare instruments to achieve my sound. For example, I use a 1948 Gibson Console non-pedal steel guitar - the same model used by Don Helms on the Hank Williams recordings. I use a 1953 Gretsch Synchromatic archtop acoustic guitar to provide the rhythm for the swing numbers as well as a guitar sound reminiscent of cowboy music. In short, all of those folks who love the old sound will love my music, and my music is fresh enough to attract all kinds of listeners.
