I have seen Gary Calvin play in many venues, and therefore the sounds of Universal Language seemed oddly familiar, and quite comforting. I am in hopes that there will be another CD to follow! I can't get enough.

A great cd from a great bassist who deserves more recgonition.
author: Glenn Gray
This is a great cd with a wide range of different musical styles. Gary Calvin steps away from the Joyce Cooling mode and delivers music deep from his soul. I was really taken by a couple of the fusion based cuts and enjoyed the narration by his kids on one of the cuts. His bass sounded great and was very well mixed on every song. Joyce Cooling would serve herself justice to getting Gary more envolved on her albums.
