Album Notes

Octave Motives the third official CD release by Gary Fuston including 10 music tracks featuring electric guitar and keyboard synth mixes. All music composed produced and recorded by Gary Fuston under his own production company G. House Productions. After the release of "The Best Of G. Fuston"2003 and "Unwind" 2004, Gary took a break from recording and started promoting independent artists on his weekly internet radio show G. House Jazz & More featured on GHP RADIO. This time Gary was able to take his time on this project compared to the time he devoted to his previous projects therefore he feels that this is a much better production for this CD release of Octave Motives.
Cool grooves simple melodies and pure soul & heart went into the making of Octave Motives.

Music composer producer, internet radio dj host and music promoter.

Gary Fuston has been involved with music practically most of his life from the time he laid hands on the piano and organ as a child growing up until the time he joined the school band playing drums and percussion through out graduating from high school. During the last years of high school Gary was also playing guitar with a group that was formed by friends that was called the T.O.C. Band.

During the time Gary was a member of the group (1979-1982) he was given a art scholarship to attend the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma as a art major and became a member of the USAO jazz band.

Over the years Gary has established his self as a writer, artist, producer and composer and now added to his resume an internet radio dj host for GHP RADIO.

The CD Octave Motives

With the caress of cool, smooth guitar, celestial strings, solid rhythms, and attractive melodies, hooks and harmonic chords, veteran guitarist Gary Fuston comes forward with a commanding hold of his third and latest release, Octave Motives. The album has a lot of charm, and most of the selections – all written and produced by Fuston – are both well-formed and well-defined. I am grateful that artists such as Fuston continue to make very decent contributions to this genre. There are many tracks here that will stick with you, making this CD one that should be easy to recall. There’s the up-tempo charmer “I’m Falling,” which makes great use of the previously mentioned strings, as well as exhibiting tight, supportive horns; and there’s the handsome mid-tempo “Cool Mode,” a track Fuston offers as a single, as well. Also available as a single is the tastefully lazy, somewhat reserved “2nd Chance.” For a heavier flavor, try the snappy “Groove Scape,” the sharp, head-boppin’ “Love Step” (my personal fave) or the rhythmic “Red Alarm.” I must say that the latter track is a bit too monotonous for me due to the repetitiveness of the somewhat overbearing keys-heavy verse and absent bridge. While there are other tracks here that are absent a bridge, they work because there is great balance and nothing appears too imposing. Another danceable track can be found on the finale, “What It Was,” with its touch of funky. This track shines with personality because of a strong hook, a well-pronounced melody, a nice bridge, and some very stylish guitar work from Fuston. All in all, Fuston does a good job of pulling this album together and molding it into something quite palatable. – Ronald Jackson

by SLH.BMW Speeding home on a brisk fall evening, the car slipping into the red, gold and amber hues of the setting sun and falling maple leaves, I'm listening to Gary Fuston's, "Love Step." It's a small masterpiece in his mind, I'm sure, but to me and thousands more, it's GIANT! Gary Fuston, affectionately known as "sweet G" to me, and all of those who love him and his incredible music, is kickin' it with this one..., "Octive Motives!" G's first track on this album is merely a prelude to the genius of his work in "Octive Motives". "Octive Motives".....original compositions that are just gorgeous! it's impossible to convey his masterful blend of technique and musicality without the word "genius" coming to mind. Thank you, sweet G, for this fabulous release! Sher Lindsey-Ham
