Album Notes

Gary Jess is a lifelong resident of the Great Northwest and his songs reflect his passion for the experiences and places he has savored there.

Born in Spokane Washington, Gary's musical talents began at the age of six when he formally studied classical piano at the DeCroff Studios. By the age of nine, he added woodwinds to his talents performing is several orchestras and jazz lab bands.

His compositions have received several awards from American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers and his music has been heard on The Travel Channel, the feature film "Rivers I Have Known" and many regional ads.

In 1997, Steinway & Sons named Gary Jess to its worldwide artist roster. Included on the Steinway Artist roster have been such immortals as Irving Berlin, Duke Ellinton, George Gershwin, Vladimir Horowitz, Ignace Paderewski, Cole Porter, and Sergel Rachmaninoff. Today's Steinway Artists includes the leading stars such as Billy Joel, George Winston, Van Cliburn, Herbie Hancock, Peter Nero, Roger Williams, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Daniel Barenbolm and Maurizio Pollini.
