Album Notes

For over two decades, Gary McMahan has been writing and performing cowboy poetry and songs. His songs have been recorded by such major label recording stars as Garth Brooks, Chris LeDoux, Ian Tyson, and Riders in the Sky. He has also recorded five critically acclaimed albums himself.

• His last album, A Cowboyin' Day, received the highest honor in Western music, the National Cowboy Hall of Fame's Wrangler award for the best cowboy song of 1992.

• His song, " The Old Double Diamond," has been recorded over two hundred times and, as Michael Martin Murphy has said, “is the Mr. Bojangles of cowboy music”.

• Gary is also the Western Music Association's national champion yodeler for 1991.
