Album Notes

Rising Tribe is a Massachusetts band that plays a mix of original music, blending Folk Rock, Country, Reggae, Classic Rock, and Celtic tunes. The band’s lead singer, Tiffany Gassett, writes the songs, including all of the tracks on Rising Tribe’s debut album, Back to the Water (released at the end of 2008).

Tiffany, born in New England, was raised in the Virgin Islands. There she developed her appreciation and love of many music styles, especially Reggae. On the islands she wrote her first songs, including some of the band’s more popular political tunes.

Tiffany is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist. John Rawlings plays electric and acoustic guitar. Clara Kebabian is the band's violinist, and Joe Willis plays drums and percussion.

The nine original songs on Back to the Water range from Folk Rock to Country, and include the popular “Walking Song,” “Six O’clock,” and “Come and Go.” A nearly two-year effort, the album showcases the lyrical and musical talent of Tiffany and the large ensemble of musicians that contributed to the project. Tiffany co-produced the album with Brian Silver of 9b Studios in Milford, Massachusetts. Grammy Award-winner Bob St. John mastered the final mixes.
