Album Notes

The Gathering Field began in a burned-out third floor in Grove City, Pennsylvania when Bill Deasy, Dave Brown and Jim DiSpirito (Rusted Root Percussionist) hunkered down for the weekend with guitars, tequila, microphones and recording gear.

The resulting Glory Bound Sessions provided more than enough evidence as to the magical creative chemistry between Dave and Bill.

This chemistry led to the formation of a band and the production of their self-titled debut disc in 1994.

The band's popularity skyrocketed when one of the regions most powerful rock stations, WDVE, began playing a song called, "Lost in America." With the release of the record which bore the same name The Gathering Field garnered a deal with Atlantic Records in 1996 and continued to develop it's ever-widening base of supporters.

Since leaving Atlantic, Gathering Field has continued to grow artistically with the release of "Reliance" (1999) and "So Close to Home" (2001.)

REVIEWS

One of the best albums of the 90's
author: neil (Blackpool, UK)
One of the best albums of the 90's. Fantastic lyrics, memorable songs, wonderful voice - and it still sounds fresh in 2008. Don't miss out on the Bill Deasy solo albums. 'Good Day No Rain' is a great place to start. Classic status awaits. I rank this alongside the other undiscovered classics of the 90's: 'Faith & Desire's Heavy Mellow; The Loveless' A Tale of Gin and Salvation; 'Michael McDermott' s/t. Enjoy

Soulfull, honest, pure,truly inspired, Americana

Each song has its own "hits you where you live" emotion. It's the one CD that I always go back to. I found it in a used record store and it fits like my favorite clothes. I cant wait for the new pressing to come out so I can get a new copy. My first one disappeared when I moved. Seems like forever waiting!

THE BEST
author: Norwegian
Bought this CD in 1997, and I have played it many times since then. I once had three copies of the CD, difficult to get to in Norway - and have now given them on to some friends. I still think this is one of the best albums I got in my collection, along Counting Crows' "August and Everything After" Please Check it out!!!
