notes
Kentucky girl Gayle Schmitt and the Toodala Ramblers have just released a new bluegrass and old time music CD for kids. Gayle teaches music/movement classes for children in San Francisco and has long included bluegrass and traditional songs in her teaching and performing. Toodala -front porch favorites, features notable local musicians playing fun arrangements of favorite bluegrass and old-time tunes and includes two new original songs by Gayle.
Complete with banjo, fiddle, dobro, mandolin and some hot pickin' and pretty harmonies - the new disc is a treat for your ears! Listen to the scurrying squirrel and the river boat movin' on down the river, jump with the chorus of frogs, dance by the light of the moon with the buffalo gals Hey! How many biscuits can you eat?
Backing Gayle on the CD are the Toodala Ramblers, all members of other San Francisco bluegrass and old time bands:
Rick Hendricks - Dobro (Belle Monroe and the Brewglass Boys)
Chad Clouse - Fiddle (Lost Weekend, Due West, David Grisman)
Elise Engelberg - Fiddle (Von Trout Family Singers)
Debbie Berne - Old-time Banjo
Tom Drohan - Bass (Belle Monroe, Shut-Ins, Chazz Cats)
Jordan Klien - Banjo - (Ho'Down Quartet, Belle Monroe)
Ted Silverman - Mandolin (West of Kentucky, Belle Monroe, Chazz Cats)
Charley Casey - Dobro (The Chazz Cats)
John Kornhauser - vocal harmony (Dark Hollow)

author: Teresa MichaudMy grandchildren, ages 5 and 3, absolutely love this cd. We play it in the car, during lunch, and outside during play. They love dancing to the upbeat music, and just can't get enough of it.Thankyou Gayle, for singing for children.
Fabulous CD!

Great musicianship and kid-appeal
author: Liz WThis cd has some seriously fun kid appeal and the quality of the arrangements and instrumental work grab the adult listener. Gayle Schmitt with a beautiful warm and clear voice serves up bluegrass and old-time music for all ages.
