Robert Gaza (Gazizov) was born in Ufa, in Russia. In1968, after graduation from the college of art in Ufa, he attended Professor A.Leman's class of composition at the Kazan University of the Arts and graduated from University of the Art in Ufa in 1973.
The seventies saw the composer active in composition of choral and stage music. The eighties marked a shift to another, more mature stage in his creative work. These instrumental compositions are different in content, structure and expressive meaning.
The Concert for Oboe and Chamber Orchestra was created in the wake of the baroque musical tradition and is remarkable in depth and rich polyphonic expression.
The concert for Piano, Strings and Drums has a name, "Theme and variations". Each variation has its own character.
The First Symphony is an expressive and dynamic work, consisting of three (3) parts. In this music there is a profound feeling of the issues of the times.
Symphonic and chamber works were performed at many large cities such as Moscow, Leningrad, Kazan, Rom, Berlin and Halle.
Since 1995, Robert Gaza has been living in New York.
