Album Notes

Capitol Wave was recorded in mid 2008 at MediumFusion studios in the Stutz Business Complex in Indianapolis, IN. It's the album that almost didn't get made... Gay Black Republican vocalist Doc received deployment orders from the Army Reserve to report in to be sent to Iraq - the same week GBR was scheduled to go into the studio to record Capitol Wave. The rest of the band began laying down their parts for the album in hopes that Doc could record his vocal parts remotely from Iraq. After three weeks in pre-Iraq training and testing Doc was sent back home due to medical issues and was able to record his parts on the album. Early mixes of Capitol Wave were sent to Ft. Wayne record label Chain Smoking Records in hopes of signing with them for the album’s release. Chain Smoking Records signed Gay Black Republican to a deal to release, promote and distribute Capitol Wave, which was released to the world on September 6, 2008 at Punk Rock Night at the Melody Inn. One month later the album was awarded “Best Local Release” at the annual Punk Rock Night Awards Show. Weekend regional touring has followed the release.
