Album Notes

Dear Listener; there is a vast amount of Christmas music available and deciding which pieces would fit was a challenge. The selections here are a blended tapestry of traditional and contemporary songs woven to evoke a sense of peace and serenity for the soul and to return us to the true meaning of Christmas. So I ask you all to slow down and enjoy some quiet time. Peace be unto you.
The performers are Gayla Matos ,guitar, folk harp, Judy Handler Guitar, Mark Levesque mandolin, guitar,bandolin, Julie Shrake folk harp and Norman Johnson bass.
Bio; Gayla has been a serious performer, composer-arranger for over 25 years. As part of the Heyman-Matos Duo, Gayla was privileged to perform at the Bushnell’s Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford CT. She is featured on two of the CT. Guitar Society’s compilation CD’s “New England Landscapes II” and “Gift of the Guitar” as well as past performances for the Greater Hartford Arts Council, CT Guitar Society & Winvian Resort in Morris, CT . She has also performed throughout CT at various public and private events both large and small.

Gayla offers a variety of music styles in her repertoire including Classical, Spanish, South American, Celtic and popular standards. She also performs with “Serene Strings”, a duo with Celtic Harper Julie Shrake.
