“….never thought I‘ld be happy to see the snow…”
author: Butch Watkins
These are the lyrics from the song ‘Dark Of Night’ from the album, “No Room For Sleep” by En Gedi. This is a 180 from their debut, self titled album, ‘En Gedi’. Thought provoking lyrics, with a musical style that is pure Blues in it’s most basic form. Everyone should take note, these guys are heading in a different direction. This album takes you on a journey. The stories in each song tell you of a man and his faith in Jesus. Every song takes a turn to show just how important that faith is, and how important it is to share that knowledge. I listened to this cd first through my headphones (as I normally do), then through my stereo speakers. And as with most all recordings I listen to, I enjoyed the headphone experience more. The mix was as good as any I’ve heard. The band pulls out all the stops on this project. Going from electric power-chord jamming that will get your toes tappin’, to an acoustic touch that will pull at your heart, you have to ask yourself…’does it get any better than this.’ Brazin’ guitar riffs that Nathan James seems to achieve more and more with each recording, the guitar tones are more direct and pure with this album than the first. Gerard’s drumming is on time as always, while he gets a really fat and solid sound on this recording. A new studio, a new approach, with a new mindset of delivering the Gospel of Jesus Christ. En Gedi is a band to be taken seriously. Very seriously. Butch Watkins Program Director/ Sharecropper Christian Radio
