Gelena’s Story
Gelena’s music career had an early start. As a toddler she made up little songs and skits, headlining at family gatherings. That’s when Gelena’s parents noticed, they had a little performer in the making. Hard-workers themselves, they pushed Gelena to develop her talent. In spite of living below poverty line in Lithuania, they sent their daughter to a music school '" a luxury this family could not afford. Others were drawn by Gelena’s bright pure voice, as she performed in school recitals and singing competitions. Her piano instructor saw Gelena’s strong creative potential and encouraged the young girl to compose more seriously than before. Gelena’s first children’s songs and piano pieces followed and found recognition even among adult musicians. Yet new challenges laid ahead.
The family’s move from Lithuania to the United States marked a new chapter in Gelena’s life. New country, new language, new culture - all were a difficult adjustment for a teenage girl. To help her through the difficult times, she turned to music again. Gelena started singing at clubs and weddings. She quickly won over her audiences with her clear voice and heartfelt, energetic performance, making new fans each time.
Today, Gelena is releasing two original albums: “Dissolve” and “My Piano and Me,” followed by the powerful, spiritual single “Arise.” Writing her own songs brings the most emotional, spiritual and intellectual fulfillment to her as an artist. Most of her material is in the genre of Adult Contemporary Pop with a distinct European flavor. Writing and performing in both languages (Russian and English), Gelena has developed her own unique style. Her deep lyrics, moving melodies, and her bright voice make these songs simply contagious...
