I impressed all my friends when I played this!, This is a wonderful, original CD that I just love to listen to over and over. What an artist!
-Gloria Estefan
Gemma sings, composes and plays the violin with equal virtuosity and radiance.
Her musicianship was refined to the highest levels of excellence at the University of Warsaw's Academy of Music, later under the tutelage of the great Henryk Szeryng at the Conservatoire de Musique in Geneva, where she won a diploma in Virtuoso Performance, and finally at New York's Juilliard School, where she studied with the celebrated Ivan Galamian.
Her one-woman show in Paris, which she created in all respects (writing, music and vocal and instrumental performance), highlighted her manifold gifts as singer-violinist-performer. So impressed was Oscar Peterson, the great jazz pianist, that he urged Gemma to return to New York to pursue her dream of synthesizing jazz, pop and new age styles.
You can hear how uniquely Gemma has succeeded by playing her audio samples now. Her witty, sly lyrics and heartfelt tunes are more than charming: they're uplifting, disarming and warm the soul.

Haunting, beautiful

What a lovely CD of original music. A variety of genre-crossing pieces.
Gemma plays several instruments (her violin is positively haunting) and sings with sweet tones, and lots of expression.
Production is iffy, but with music like this, who cares?

It takes a lot to impress me, and I was in awe, listening to the cuts from this album being featured on WGBH a few weeks ago. I bought it with minutes of hearing the title cut. Fantastic mix of tunes, from love song to musette, then to scat singing with jazz overtones. Just buy it and close your eyes with headphones on and enjoy the ride.
